Best (coolest) fish for new 29 gallon??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What kind of fish are you in to? It is hard to give you ideas if we don't know what you like. Do you like CA/SA or Africans?

If I had a 29 gal I would do a simple salt water set up with a pair of clowns and a fake Anemone.

Fake because I can't afford the lights and other fancy equipment.

I love Clown fish. But It might be hard to find a pair that will host a rubber Anemone.

If I had to do Fresh water I would go for some sort of Rams as the focal point.

Rams are cool.

imho

rams or apistos (awesome), or a leaf fish with a rope fish and some danios

By "Cola" do you mean "Pensacola"? There are all kinds of cool saltwater, brackish, and freshwater fish there you could catch and keep.

clown loaches look pretty sweet! i have seen a couple people do it in smaller tanks on mfk looks nice!

For a 29g i would get a school of about 15-25 exodons. Do a search on them if you need pics and info. But they are a great small monster. They have the attitude that piranha owners want out of there fish. Most of the time they have to be by them selves or they will kill most tank mates. And you have to keep alot of them in a confined space or they will kill each other. They are unlike most other fish in rules to be followed. You can check the other characins forum for alot of personal info as well from some keepers of these little monsters.
