Oregon, it's part of 'Murica!
Well I was looking into getting a baby bearded or water dragon while I was in Eugene but found something better, baby Chinese Golden Threads which is of the few legal species of water turtle I can keep here in Oregon. So Monday I am gonna go pick one up. After we went to the reptile store we, went an awesome lfs called Aqua Serene and found a short body flowerhorn for $30. I have been looking for a Kirin parrot so this is the next best thing. I will get some better pictures once it colors up in a couple days.

Its in a 10 gallon because it has a mild case of ick and I'm gonna treat it. The filter has carbon in it but has been in the tank for over a couple weeks, should I still remove it?

yeah i would but keep it areated. Carbon can clean the copper outa the water

I know but I heard old carbon wont. I usually let the filter run but take the cartridge out.

Carbon will counter most meds.
Also 3 weeks, the carbon could soon start releasing all the toxins it has soaked up back into the water.

Take it out!!!

I did an hour ago, gonna take that tank down after its cured and move it into another tank by itself. How big do shortbodies get?

It varies, the biggest short body I have ever seen in person is about 7" barely touching the 8" mark. And this was a 4½ year old SB. So it's pretty much grown out...

Congrats, he's very cute.
