Best Dead Bait For Pike

Well i like to pike fish in england on the canals and ive tried all sorts,

Sardines are usually what i use but never seem to attract the pike the ebst bait i ever used is live perch lol which always guarantees a catch but any ideas on best dead bait to use.

just an fyi it is illegal to use live natives as bait unless they are shiners. also its probably a very bad idea to use sardines as well. just use lures-they last longer

i first go fishing for the biggest native shinners you can get(meal worms work well to catch them).Then i use them either live or dead in the same lake where i caught them.

Dead smelt is awesome pike bait.

i always use very small dead roach,the perfect fish!
