My fish keep breaking those cheap glass thermometers I have, any suggestions on a digital one? I used to own a TOM digital thermometer, but it stopped working after 8 months. Looking for something that will last at least twice that amount of time and is not too harsh on the wallet.

I use the cheapo ones as well and one has lasted well over a year now with just one battery change, the other is still new but working great. I prefer the digital ones because they react more quickly when doing wc's and I'm able to keep the tank stable within +/- 1*
I've been using a reptitemp infrared thermometer to actually temp the water and not through the glass or acrylic. There's about a 2 degree difference between my stick on thermometers vs the actual water temp.
