I was wondering what my options are when it comes to a dither fish in a 55g. They have to be friendly enough not to fk with my nice fish, but fast enough to evade and tantalize a young jag, yet big enough not to be swallowed by my 14'' Bichirs at the bottom. I was thinking silver dollars, but that's only because it's the only dither fish I could come up with at the moment. Any other options??

I also have a 29g with an even smaller (4'') jag in, and it's already bothering my bichirs but I'm not ready to move him to a bigger tank or trade him in, so a smaller dither fish would be great but not sure what to use there either.

Thanks for any help you can give,

Keeper

Chalceus macrolepidotus...not seen very often and rather active. The main problem you will have will be availability. I use FireMouths as my dithers most of the time because they get relative large, are attractive, aren't overly aggressive, and are almost always active...;)

I agree, I like the Chalceus species.

i'd have to side with silver dollars just coz i love their faces lol. in a group they look cool so yea, vote for them :)

Anyone else got some suggestions?> I like the firemouth idea... Not a silver dollar fan. If I'm going to have 6 or more 6" fish in my tank I'd rather have them be something I want to look at!
