Best eel to get

I used to have a spiny eel but he died a couple weeks ago. I absolutely loved this guy, so I plan to get another one. I want to get one bigger though.
Which kind of eel do you think has the best personality? I don't think eels have issues with many other fish, but it'd be living with an oscar.
 
i think the best eel to get would be the fire eel all due to it's coloring and it's size, I mean I seen videos of them on youtube and its real cool seeing them slither around the way they do and hand feeding them
 
how big is your tank
 
It's a 55g but I'm still trying to work out who goes to the 75g and who goes to the 55g. So being with an oscar isn't 100%.
If I got a fire eel he'd have to go in the 75g but I'm not sure if that's too small.
How fast do fire eels grow?
 
not super fast but noticable at the end of the month.

personally id do tire track, but they get bigger from what ive seen. either way you should end up getting atleast a 125 for fire eel or TT eel.

Yeah, I don't see myself upgrading that large anytime soon...
I'll probably get another variation of a spiny eel again. I don't know how large they get, but mine grew pretty slow over about 6 months.
 
id go with a tire track eel. they dont get as "thick" as fire eels do... but they do get long lol.
 
Dude, trust me, get a Fire Eel. Not only are they the best looking, but have BY FAR the best personality. They are very easy to keep, very hardy. It is also very easy to get them to eat right out of your hand and nothing compares to it man, nothing. When I stick my hand in the tank, mine gets all excited and starts shaking around like a little puppy. Fire Eel.
