So I was just reading up on setting up a breeding tank to feed my Red Bellied P's. People say Convicts, others do shrimp, I personally just had a swordtail give birth to 30 fry and was gonna use them. I wanna feed my RBP's the best of the best!

But in your opinions, whats the BEST fish to breed and feed to your redbellies?
Guppies? Swordtails? Neons? Convicts? Any Cichlids?? (p.s. i know goldfish are a horrible food"

btw i have a 10gallon extra tank that ill probably use. so i dont know if the convict cichlids will fit

^ true... but i like using feeder guppies and ghost shrimp

I always use rosies, because guppies nip the other fishes' fins and goldfish die immediately due to being in warm water. Plus you get get rosies anywhere from .5-3 inches at the same price. Oh, and they seem easy to catch.

Ghost shrimp are my second favorite, but they don't look very nutritious. Just shell and water...

I have tried all of the feeders mentioned and the best I have found are the crappie minnows in bait shops. They are held in cold water and haven't found any of the disease problems that come with the rosies and feeder guppies. They are usually cheaper too.
