I have a 125 gallon and was wondering the best single filter I could use instead of using up so many outlets for more smaller ones.

get a power stirp and use one wall plug

i mounted 2 power strips to the back of my tank. i run 3 AC110s on my 125.....works great i like the even distribution of the water intake/ outtake really churns up the whole tank, keeping it from gettin stagnant also keeps the tank evenly heated . but if you are lookin for one single canister alot of ppl are using the Fx5, Eheim pro II 2028

Single I would recommend the FX5.

3 AC110's, does that generate a lot of noise?

only if the water level gets low then u hear the water cascading into the tank
mine r prty quiet on my 210

same here. as long as i keep the tank topped off it's not to bad.......but if i have my air pumps on and it sucks up air into the impeller man is it noisy sounds like an outboard motor cavitating

Why only one plug? I would, if I only had one plug, do an Eheim 2262. Although it is very expensive, you have a 18 liters of media (fx5 holds about 6 in the center chambers), plenty of flow (535 gph), and eheim reliability, which is needed if you are relying on one filter.
