Best filter for a 35 g tank

I have a submersible pump which is 1000 L/H
The stocks in the tank consist of a soon hock, toman, black ghost knife, some loaches and some feeder fishes. (All of them are about 1 inch)
Is the pump too strong or should i get another weaker pump.
What do you guys suggest?

As long as the fish arent being thrown around. I would suggest an ac70 just because they are so easy to maintain.
