What is the best way to set up a filter for my 600?
I'm thinking just run 2 unlitma 4000 since I'm too lazy to build a sump.

To my understanding some people have said a sump is hard to maintain and gets messy.

I want a set up that's easy to maintain and efficient.
Any ideas or know anyone that knows filters?

Tank is going to be mainly lots of peacock bass and arowana and datnoids and rays and maybe something else.

Eheim are decent could run a few or a few fx5/6 on it if you don't want to use a sump. What pbass are your going to be getting?

Canisters will provide very little flow for how much water you have I would not go with canister filters, I would have to run about 5 of them and it still would not be as good as my sump setup. A sump can be very simple and easy if designed properly. I love my sump setup as all I do is wash my filter socks and those get thrown in the washing machine and a spare set goes in the sump and they rotate like that. you can look through my thread or some ideas. I use 4 filter socks, some pond matrix submerged media and then I have my in sump k1 type reactor moving around 2 cubic feet of media , 125 gallon tank as my sump. Getting a bead filter would be very nice as well so just depends on what you want to do. But overall my sump is as little work as a bead filter more or less time wise. And if you have a water supply and drain near by work on an auto drip setup and its almost no maintenance at all on the tank. I change my filter socks about once a week and do nothing else ever on my setup besides feed the fish and move fish because they are fighting or pissing me off.

Yea I think the same.
You can run 15 fx5 and it wouldn't be as good as one ultima.

I'm thinking of a closed loop heard its much easier to maintain with the ultima filters.

I'm thinking of a sump plus ultima.
Maybe a fx5 for more Mechanical.
