One of my new arrivals, a jd, has fin rot, and after only a few days it appears as if some of the others might have it, which brought it to my attention. It is still in the veryyyyy beggining stages, hardly any fraying, but it is definatly there. What kind of treatment would you recogmend, and or any medicines?

you need to identify if its fungal or bacterial first. Once youve figured that out if its fungal then you can get the appropriate medication for it. If its bacterial, warm up the temp and treat with salt. thats what has done the trick for me. If that doesnt work, ive always had luck with melafix

Ok it's definitely fungal, any medications you recommend?

I would add some salt and get jungle fungus clear. That would really well for me. You can find it at big al's or you may be able to find it at the pet smart near you or any LFS. Also API is EXCELLENT. A bit more expensive but works great. Also at big al's.

The best antifungal is Pimafix IMO....Works great..

Well I picked some up today...fingers crossed! And my hope is that it will heal quickly, as it is in such beginning stages that I pretty much caught it a day or two after it even became visible, I guess it pays to sit and watch your fish for hours on end!

Good luck, fingers are crossed.

Thanks! Should I do wate changes in between each treatment of pimafix? The directions day wait untill treatment is done, and the. After 7 days do a water change, but what are your experiences?
