I'm looking for some fish that will sift through my sand. I've got a 55 gallon with 9 giant danios, one EBJD, a pink con, and an albino bushy nose pleco. What would work with my set up? I did have a peacock eel but unfortunately he committed suicide during a WC a few weeks ago  I don't think I want to get another eel.

The best fish for sifting sand imo is a huge goldfish. I have a 10" one that takes mouth fulls of sand and sifts it and spits it out all day long. I also have about 8 adult corydoras, and they do a wonderful job in my community tank. If the EBJD will leave them alone...and I assume your temperature is on the warm side, you could go with some Sterbai Corydoras, they tolerate the warmer waters then most other species of Corys.

wow u got a crazy stock, i had in my mind geos but after reading what's in the tank i am having doubts it would work.

Thanks! I'll look into the corys. I don't like goldfish and honestly I think a goldfish would not work in my tank just for the fact of how messy they are. The EBJD will be messy enough when he gets larger lol

Lol what is crazy about my stock? So far the EBJD and the con are not aggressive with any of the other fish. They can be aggressive towards each other but only when it comes to their territories. They leave the danios and the pleco alone. I'd love to get some geos but I agree that they probably wouldn't work with the fish I already have.
