Just wondering what the best flake food on the market is. If money was not an issue.. And I don't want to make it myself :D

Look on the ingrediants list. Basically your looking for fish food with no fillers and lots of whole fish. If it just says krill its no better than fish meal. so its garbage. Basically just useless fat trimmings and ground bone. Also if it says "krill" or "fish meal" some of the protein is going to be indegestible so they are inflating there numbers to scam you. First ingrediant is the largest, the last is the least important

Good:
Whole krill meat
Whole salmon
Garlic
Spirulina

Bad:
Wheat
Grain
Fish meal
Krill
Salmon
Any mammals
Rice

There is no best. Most brands are good. Some are better than others. Best thing to do is to feed your fish a variety of foods. Why feed the same thing everyday?

Cobalt Aquatics is right up there at the top in my books. New Life is also very good.
But Cobalt is newer and less know but i'd say #1. Fish love it and look amazing. Coloration and growth out of this world. Try they're pro breeder!! They have Spirilina flakes also. well they have just about everything. And theyre at the head of the line at the moment for fish food made with probiotics...Blue flakes...For vitamins and ammino acids. check it out for yourself. Its a great american owned company. http://cobaltaquatics.com/

For mbuna I like the hbh super 8 veggie and for community tanks I like xtreme community crave.

Omega One is my pick. Its got the best ingredients with the least fillers. I think tetra flakes have the most fillers.

In the absence of facts, experts abound.

This is the problem with forums such as this, any kid can post anything even if they know next to nothing.

Curiously, why do you want to feed your fish flakes?

It can contribute to swim bladder issues unless you soak them so they sink straight away, but if you have any floating on the surface, this can cause the fish to swallow air as well.

If it's a matter of saving money, the Omega 1 sinking pellets are comparable in price at most stores and you can get different pellet sizes as well.
