Hey guys, what is the best flake food out there? I am curious because I will crush it and use it for feeding my fry. Right now I am trying to use up some Tetra flake food, but I am sure there has to be better stuff out there.

Any food stored in opaque containers are the best foods you get.;) Why? Light and air will often remove the nutrients stored in the food. I used Sera.:)

I don't know about the "best", but I've had good results with Omega One flakes. I don't know if Hikari makes flake food, (I'm sure they do), but their pellets are superb.

Omega One Flakes, hands down.

Hikari does make a flakefood but I have only seen and bought it once, pretty good stuff if you can find it. Omega One is my favorite however, I love all of Omega One's products.
More so then flakes I like HBH SuperSoft pellets, particularly the krill pellets. Lot's of my picky fish will eat them. They sink and they can also be crushed between the fingers no problem.
Another food I actually like is Tetra's JumboMin Food Sticks. Though larger fish seem to waste a lot of it it works great for smaller fish and fry. It's easy to crush and has a higher protein percentage then most foods I have come across.

i've been feeding my baby mollys crushed omega one color enhancing flakes, and they're doing very well on it. no deaths, at least that i've seen! i also give them hikari frozen baby brine shrimp once in a while.

i've looked for hikari flakes and haven't found them.
