Hi people!! in your opinions what is the best food to give flowerhorns? i have a 3" fader that i am currently feeding prawns and pellets, is there anything else that will help with colour, girth kok size etc??? i'd appreciate your opinions ? thanks guys:D

Everyone feeds differently...I think there are more than a few on the market. The one I chose was new life spectrum. I love it, the fish love it and I see better growth/color out of my slow growing hybrid fish. Short body flowerhorn, SB Green Texas, killin parrot etc.

it took them a few days to become acustomed to a slow sinking pellet but now they even hoover it up from the gravel if they missed it sinking down.

Cool, thanks, I'm all about what works what doesn't , so I won't waste time getting him on rubbish food, ATM he's eating a mix of prawns, brine shrimp w/garlic and hikari cichlids gold. I think he'd eat anything tbh!!! Lol

Just make sure to keep the pellets as a staple instead of mixing prawn for every single meal. Keep those prawn/shrimp/krill as treats only. Maybe 1-3 times a week?
Bloodworms is also highly used(try to avoid freeze dried), I see tons of great results from bloodworms also. But if you want redness in coloring, then prawn/shrimp/krill is the better way to go.

I agree on the frequency of giving prawns etc. Three times a week should be sufficient. A fat fish is not the same thing as a big fish.

And FYI I did not like hikari for my hyrids at all. I feel it is nutritionally deficient compared to what I'm using now.
