I have just received my Jeff Rapps JD's, I have 5 in a grow out tank with a few dither fish, they are very shy and skittish atm but I think they will calm down with age and after the shock of being shipped twice!!

Any way what is the best diet for them? Recommendations on particular brands would be great as well as anything else. I have tried them on some generic flake and bloodworm's. They love bloodworm but not the flake and I really want to give them the best and for them to grow huge and colourfull. So what is the best food/diet for them?

Cheers

I'm currently raising a couple of broods of Gold JDs (currently 1.5 to 4.5 cm TL). I feed them 600-800 micron Golden Pearls. Hikari Gold (Baby Pellet), frozen Bloodworms, frozen spirulina enriched brine shrimp, and crushed Omega One Cichlid Flakes.

Are these some of the F1 Escondido JDs Rapps has? Post some pics if you can.:)

I should have added. I usually try to feed them 4 to 5 small meals a day. By small I mean an amount that they can finish in 30 seconds. The GPs and Hikari Gold are usually each fed twice a day, and then I feed one of the frozen foods once a day. I normally only feed the flakes when I run out of one of the pellets.

Thanks for the replies, it's just the standard RO JD, I will try and get a pic tomorrow with my new cam although it could be difficult as they are still quite skittish.
