so i finally got my rtc to eat something other than omnivore pellets. he took 5 silver sides today. my question is whats healthier frozen silver sides, omnivore pellets, frozen goldfish, which are half the price of live feeders.

I suggest frozen Tilapia, and shrimp. Mine ate massivore till he was bout 8" than I switched him over to tilapia, and shrimp with the occasional treat like worms, banana or squid. Hes gone from 2" to 21" in about 6months. Btw goldfish have no nutritional value at all.

I usually feed my RTC MP when they are young till they are abt 15" then switch over to fish meat :) and they can cost U quite a bomb to maintain ;) but very fun loving cats IMO :D

Pellets are great while he is small maybe up to 1'-1 1/2' but after then you want him on fish and shrimp, best of luck hope you are prepaired to spend alot. BTW....your avatar, is that the fish in question because that looks like an rtc x tsn?

no my avatar is a fish i lost about a year ago.... ive been raising cats like this for a while.... just had a question on the pure nutritional value of goldfish, pellets, and silversides. how do silver sides compare to tilapia?

I dont know for a fact how they compare but I would assume they are very similar in nutritional makeup. Stay away from feeders they are basicaly all calories from fat.

where do yall get your tilapia from?

Walmart or any other food store. I normally get 5lbs of fresh frozen tilapa for $10 at my local walmart.
