Best food for color and growth?

Hello all.
Looking for the best food for color and growth on a 2" Gold Saum.
At the minute I am feeding them hikari cichlid gold once a day and frozen king prawns once a week.

Is there any better products or better feeding schedule to follow for growth and color?

In my opinion food don't matter so much as frequency and amount per water change that is done.

I do at the minimum 50% water change every third day.
I feed my fish 3x a day when small tapering off to 2 down to 1 as they reach adulthood. I used to use Hikari but have since switched to NLS.
