I just got a grass pickerel last week and it is a very picky eater. As of now it will only eat ghost shrimp, brine shrimp and feeder fish (guppies and rosy reds). I know feeder fish are not healthy and it can eat a lot of shrimp so I really want to get it to eat something else. I tried feeding it crickets but it looks at them and refuses. Are there any other foods you recommend for pickerel? And is there any chance that I can get it to start eating crickets? Thanks for the help.

A fish will never starve its self dont feed it for a couple days and it should start eating or you could try tying some tilapia to a thread or fishing line and jig it around usually they will strike even if they are not hungry because of predatory instincts once they know the taste they should readily take it
also just curious as to where you got it and how big is the tank?
Jonahs Aquarium has grass pickerel right now. The tank is 150 gallons. I want to add a few more pickerel especially a redfin pickerel but have been unable to find one.
I tried calling and emailing them a month ago but they never got back to me. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks.
