Should it be sinking or floating so far i'm using Harkari Gold and frozen shrimp that I cut up for them as the are still small. One is 2.5 in. the other is 2 in. These reason I ask is because they eat the shrimp better and it sinks where as the pellets float, or is this because they like the shrimp better. Also has anyone tried Ken's Fish food.

I think sinking pellets are better. My GT eats them much more readily than floating pellets. The sinking ones I use are omega one shrimp pellets, but they also making sinking cichlid pellets (I've just got floating ones). Hikari cichlid gold also comes in a sinking variety.
sinking foods. hikari foods are good enough. cichlid gold, bio gold should be ok. try giving it a bit of variation like mine loves veggie flakes and the odd algae wafer now and then.
