I have a new little weeksii in a temp 29 gallon tank because he looks small enough to be food in my main tank. I also have 2 grow out GTs in there with him. He is about 5 inches and the GTs are both below 3 inches. I normally wouldnt have so many grow outs together but i wasn't expecting to have to replace my weeksii.

The weeksii hasn't shown any interest in food yet, but i have only had him 2 days now. I was considering moving him to the sump on the large tank where i would assume the water quality would be better due to the larger volume in the tank. The water in the sump is so turbulent because of the return pump I am not sure that is the best place for him though.

The sump is a wet/dry so he would have to be on the return pump side of the filter. The water level is about 6 inches high and he would be in an area about 12W x 12L. It would be hard to monitor him in the sump because of placement, but in the 29 gallon I am thinking he might not grow as fast...

What do you guys think?

what are they other polys and their sizes in the larger tank?

endlis and ornates and a lap. The lap is the smallest at 7 - 8 inches. the others are all between 10 and 15 inches. i think my biggest ornate or endli could take down my lap if i didnt keep them well fed. the new weeksii....he just looks so skinny compared to the others....i would like to give him an inch or two before putting him in the main tank.

i wouldn't worry about his length as much as his girth because IMO they grow very slow. So if i'm you i'm putting some girth on him then introducing them.

I was going to reply to this a while back, but i never got pics. In this pic the endli is about 14 inches and the lap is maybe 8: fishpics 007.jpg

The weeksii is skinnier and a little shorter than the lap in this pic. and he doesnt like pics. i managed to sneak a picture of him by sliding the camera round the back of the tank:

yeah lol i'd just worry bout the girth if you really want him in there, but if he's eating well i'd try and but a couple inches on him.

i was a little nervous about the lap too. But the other fish are well fed and the lap is a pretty good eater in there. He already looks bigger than when i first put him in.

The weeksii will get there. Hoping within two months
