I am thinking of getting a Kinfe fish for a 5ft x 2.5 tank but i have Some SA cichlids some sevruns Geophagus and 2 pearsei.

I aslo got some polys and going to get to gars.

Depending on the size of the tank and the hiding spots, a BGK would be good.

i agree ! BGK are more suited as long as theres plenty of spots to hide !
i have 2 in my 5 by 2 a variety of fish including 2 large polys and an arowana and never had any probs !

bgk would be good but forgo the gar. they are not suited to live with aggressive cichlids. more than likely they will harass it till it runs into the glass so hard it breaks its back and dies.
