So I'm looking to put led lights on top of my African cichlid all male show tank. I'd like to here what you all think is the best led system for all male show tanks based on these three criteria

1) best bang for your buck
2) color that fish show
3) simplicity

I updated for Xmas to the Current USA system. I didn't get the whole fixture. I made my own because it's an in wall tank I got the led strips that can mount under existing hoods. It has wireless controller that you can adjust the coloration exactly the way you want. Research it there are video clips on their website. I actually got them on petco online with coupons one 46" setup was about $70

I have the current satellite+, in fact I have three: one 48-60" light on each of my 125g tanks. I really like how you can control the color of the light. In my 125g tank, the lights are not bright enough to grow plants, but definitely show the fish very well. The only thing you have to decide is the length of your light. I decided on doing one 48" light (arms extend to 60") on my 125g tanks, because I like having the sides of the tank a bit darker. I can still easily see the fish when they are on the sides, but if they don't want to be under the spotlight they don't have to. It is just preference.

As far as bang for the buck, I really found these lights offered the most for the price. They are not the brightest, but you can choose what warmth of color you want - do you want more of a blue hint, orange, green, etc.

Beamswork from Aquatraders. I got a SUPER bright 36" led light for $59 with free shipping. Very bright and has great moon light led's as well. I'm very happy with my purchase.

These are the beamswork double bright, I have two 36" led lights. Don't mind the bad picture I just pulled one of my phone but I think you can tell how bright they are. Fish have great color under them and I have had them for almost a year now, no problems. I paid $140 shipped from ebay.

What's a good led light for low light plants? I'm not wanting to go down the CO2 road so I need a light that will help small amount of plant grow.
