what is the best price u manage to talk the lfs down on a fish?

b/c theres a $20 uaru, n im gonna go tommorrow to talk the price down to $12. u think i can do it?

The best way to bargain with an LFS is to be a good customer...and someone that they know. Otherwise, you're just some a-hole trying to chisel them.

Another technique is to buy all of the remaining fish (e.g. 6) and see if you can get one free.

Finally, many LFS will offer a discount if you're a member of a local fish club.

you're right, sometimes i just give my customer the same price i stocked them for, reason because they help me get free stuff sometimes ;)

I got a Mosquitofish for free at the lfs once. Knocked 10 cents off. LOL
That's because I'm there constantly, know my fish, and don't bother anyone. They actually let me loiter around because they trust me (they have a policy against kids hanging around)

haha, you know my fish store is right beside a high school, kids come all the time with out buying a thing (and little fake gangster kids come swearing and b**ching acting all cool stuff, i don't really care though, but sometimes i tell them to get out, though thing about it is, school is right there, where else they gonna go? lol i don't just sell fish, i do snake, reptile, turtles, and all that. that's why poor people come and enjoy :grinno:

my best bargain was recently telling the LFS I needed a refund on the diamond goby they sold me because they did not warn me that if he jumped out of the tank and landed on the glass top he would shrivel up and die. Joking of course.

When I got home that night acclimating the fish I got I noticed an extra bag was included. It had a diamond goby in it.

Something to be said for being a good customer. The $5 or $10 dollars that goby cost the LFS that they lose by giving it away is well worth it though to keep good customers happy.

i got a super red arowana just 3 hours ago, 700 bucks... i will upload the picture on forum show you the quanlity of the fish, because he is my friend he sold to me, others had offer for $2700 on that fish...so imagine for now till i post the picture up

-and the aro is still at his house for now, will have to wait few days (starve it) before transporting
