Hey lads, so i have 2 x 4ft LED lights on my 300g pbass and stingray tank and im still not happy with the quality of lighting, considering ive spent around $200+ on lights. One light is a beamswork miracle light and the other your standard blue and white.

The tank is bare bottom, but black vinyl bottom and black vinyl on one of the short sides of tank to block out the overflow box.

This is my custom display tank dividing the two living rooms and I really want my fish displaying their best colours and patterns. I find the tank is to shadowy and dark.

Any advice or reccomendations on how to get the best lighting for my tank would be much appreciated.

I love the finnex planted 24/7 lighting

I have the fluval 3.0 and love it. I’m running two four footers on a 450 and It’s so bright that I have it turned down to 20%. Beamswork lights aren’t the best from what I’ve researched.

I say either u spend more and get some high quality leds with different rgb colors. Or u can get some high output T5's and swamp the lights to a midday and pink bulb combo. It brings out the colors in the fish. Beamswork color is very dull and washes out the fish color in my opinion. I like the shimmering effect of leds. But for colors, I like the T5s

Yeah i have to say im really dissapointed with the Beamswork LED, especially the miracle light because you can actually see the red beaming on the bottom of the tank and driftwood, it also shows a red simmering through the water.

Unless the fish are centre and right under the lights, most of the time the tank looks dull and shadowy
