180 gallon Piranha tank lighting suggestions I need. I want really nice lighting system that would be able to support plant life. What type of lighting system would be best for my piranha tank and what suggestions for plants can you give. Thanks

well if you need to be able to support plant lives then you are pretty much to whatever the minimum requirement for those plants. unless you can have half of the tank planted then you can strong light on one end and dim light on the other end since piranha like dim light.

Howdy,

My 220 gal planted P tank - powered by Coralife Aqualight Freshwater 6700 K (avoid the Colormax). That's 4x 96 Watts power compacts

Harly that's some crazy sward you got there, very nice.
half of the tank is bright and half of the tank is covered by floating plants and some of the swards. sweet looking.

Nice! Now that's how it's supposed to be done.

I'd suggest the very same set-up of compacts lighting half of the tank and leaving the other half dim. IMO half of the tank should be clear to allow free swimming and the other half heavily planted to provide hiding/shelter.

or have plants around the side and back of the tank and leave most of the center area free for swimming, this way dont' have to worry about them ran into glasses.
