Best Lighting?

i currently have flurescent bulbs on my tank now, looking for a nice light not over bright but enough to set off the tank and the fish, the tank has a solid black background and tan sand on the bottom of the tank
should i stick with fluouresent or go more of a daylight color, led,?

hagen powerglo 18000K standard florescents are my favorite bulb. white with a hint of blue. bright too.
