Best media for FX5 and EMP400 combo

What is the best media for my fx5 it's filtering my 110g long with a emp 400

I'm not necessarily looking for the "best" i'm looking for something that has to work well.

Don't waste your money and the replacements cartridges that Marineland sells for the emperors.If you use the super cartridges with the bonded filter pads,they will last a really long time,and save you a ton of money.You can rinse them out in tank water if the pads become clogged,and water flow slows.Use them until they start to fall apart.

I don't use Fluval filters,so sorry,can't help you there.

This is what I have in them:

Both FX5 are filled with "Fluval Biomax Ceramic Rings"

Two of the three Emp 400s are also filled with "Fluval Biomax Ceramic Rings"

One of the Emp 400 is filled with "Polyester Cartridges"

So yeah...I love my ceramic rings...and already placed an order for 17 more lbs of it!

Are you buying your ceramic rings by bulk like by the pound if so were at?

For the other person biomax is what most of us use. I have two fx5's on my 150 I have prefilter rings on top biomax in the middle blue pads on the bottom.

what brand ceramic rings do you use and where do you yours?

Lol...."Fluval Biomax Ceramic Rings," is the brand name.

Now I'm starting to order them in bulk from "fishtankfactory," a member on here. He has them for around $3.50-$4.00 a pound?
