best medication for open wounds

one of my fish crashed into the light diffuser divider i have and has a huge cut/gash against her head. she's pretty timid now and is obviously hurting. i put some melafix inside and will be performing water changes. can anyone advise what else i should be doing? raising temperature, keeping water clean, aquarium salt?

that's pretty much the perfect remedy. remove anything from the tank she might hurt herself on, or other unruly tankmates. if you have a hospital tank, use it. good luck

i use melafix and salt. works everytime i ever used it.
