Best mid level predator for comm.

Hi guys,
Please help me with add a mid level, active swimming predator. My tank seems bare because the mid level is always empty. I want to add a moderately active fish to swim about in the middle of the tank.

What would you put in 100g with a florida gar and some bichir?

My only idea so far is an aro.

Sadly i can't get any African Pike in Malaysia.

Pink-Tailed Barbs, Flowerhorns, Green Terror, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, My bichir prefers to swim around the middle to top half of the tank most of the time too so that could also be an option.

I don't find Dats to be active swimmers, although the only dats I have seen are ones in crowded LFS tanks.

Koi get way to big for a 100 gallon they really need a pond.
