I may be upgrading to a 55 soon but for right now, what should I put in my 30?
I was thinking a red wolf fish but could that even stay in a 30 for very long?

I want something aggressive and that can live for, at the minimum, a year or two in a 30 gallong. Thanks!

IMO get a smallish bichir, like a senegal. Or one of the non-giant puffers (or a few of the ones that roll in a group!)

You could probably do a lurker puffer of some kind, or other lurkers like chaca chaca or thalasophryne amazonica if you're into that kind of thing.

Maybe a butis butis crazy fish opt something like that

I would say a Tilapia buttikoferi. Super duper aggressive lol should be fine in 30g for a year but will def need a bigger tank after as these guys get BIG.

Are you talking a standard 30 gallon (36") or a 29 gallon (30")?

Either way I think a senegal would be great, so would a male convict (better off in the 36" tank though).

Or you could go in a totally different direction and do a blue oranda goldfish... Not necessarily "monster", but when they get to be the size of a baseball I'd say they're pretty awesome
