From both reading and personally breeding convicts, guppies, mollies, platys, fathead minnows and gambusia minnows I realized that it just was not worth the hassle to raise my own fish feeders. I did however, find a non feeder fish that did an excellent job at feeding my green sunfish. They were Red Worms. Also known as Red Wigglers or just bait worms, they reproduce massively and require very little maitnence. They live in a rubbermaid tub (cut holes in the top) filled with natural dirt (no fertilizers or pesticides). Also their poop, also called Castings, are extremely fertile and useful for gardening and re-sale. The main reason I got the worms was for my garden, but then realized that they would also be great for my own fish! They double their population every 3 or so months. Which is incredible and perfect for Monster Fish Keepers!
Just wanted to point out the Red Worm to you guys if you have not heard of them already.

Guides have been posted for this and tons of threads talk about it already.

Is it really that easy to do? Just add dirt keep it moist and wait?

You have to give them vegetable matter like lettuce and bananas but yeah. Its that easy.

sweet.. had been considering it may have to actually do it now

haha yes it is that easy. Keep it nice and dark. keep at a temperature from 50-75F and feed 1 a week. You do have to change the soil 2x a year but thats very easy. And you can sell or use the worms and soil. I have a agrden so I use the worm castings for my garden and i sell and feed my worms to my pets. Well I did until my sunfish died..... :( Stupid raccoons!
