What are the best nonliving foods for a 5" (or thereabouts) CK?
Are Hikari Sinking Carn Pellets or Massivore probably best bets for getting them to take pellets? None of my lfs carry either of the Hikaris so I would have to order them. That's why I would like to know if anyone has used them with young CKs. Krill? Bloodworms? Frozen, Freezedried, Pellets, Prawns?

Mine take tilapia and prawns, just chop them up into bite sized pieces.

How big are they?

Frozen BW are taken fairly easily. Pellets might take some time for them to get used to. In fact, it's best to have them with pellet trained fish so they can observe and will learn that the pellets are edible.

Floating or sinking?

nothing wrong with floating ones either, but they ARE bottom dwellers. tis just a form of domestication if you think about it.

my 5,3" CK eats nutrafin max krill and shrimp sinking pellets.

Hikari sinking carnivore pellets. I've had my CK for a little over 2 weeks now and its about the size of yours. It had only feeders in the LFS so it was reluctant to take the pellets at first. That changed after 3 days of my putting nothing in the tank but pellets. I guess it got hungry enough and saw all the other fish taking the pellets, so it took them too. Now, it eats those pellets like a PIG!
