Hi just wandering for my new tank what dwarf cichlids I could put in to make a hybrid and what the best options are. Thanks a lot

I'd think apistos would likely work, and deeply concern most of the folks into apistos. Not a hybrid, but everyone loves ram color morphs and if you have success - those midnight rams are spendy and don't breed so true.

When I was setting up my 75 for dwarfs, due to budget/shipping/history I decided to only get what I could source within an hours drive. I was keeping an eye out for keyholes, apistos, checkerboard, small growing geos....and ended up going for rams and kribs. Kribs killed the rams once they paired up. So. . .be careful and/or open to failure about how you go about this.
Others will be better about knowing about fish that only show up for mail-order and then rarely.
But, I got some orange spot sunfish, and I don;t know anyone who sells those, just had to catch 'em myself.

I believe your water parameters are on the basic side (as opposed to acidic, with a pH of 7-8)
in that case some of the more sensitive S American dwarfs, that thrive in acidic water might not be the best choices.
Complaints are often heard about certain dwarfs like Micrgeophagus and Apistogramma being less than robust.
Rather than that being the case, it is the case that people try to keep them in adverse conditions (like high pH water)

Why do you want to create dwarf cichlid hybrids, do you think they will sell for more money?

The reason I want to create hybrids is because I want a fun breeding project. And a cool looking type of new fish. Does anyone know compatible dwarf cichlids that will breed together?

Duanes, you are right they won’t sell but I want an exiting project to add more Finn to the hobby
