Just been reading Elliedylan!'s amazing thread about breeding a Dovii and Red devil..... Are there any anothers of you out there managed some interbreeding ...with similarly amazing results?? Pictures would be good......:)

I crossbred a molly with a guppy and got a muppy/golly. Not the best thing to do, though. All of the fry were deformed in some way, and all died within the first 2 weeks except for 1 which I still have. The one that I do have is blind in its left eye. It looks kind of odd. Imagine a fat guppy (I bred a balloon molly with a fancy guppy) with black streaks all over its tail. This is the best picture I could get of it.

Well IMO the best hybrid is a Red Texas, they are stunning. Better than any FH every day of teh week.

You can't cross a molly and guppy, it's not possible. The reason the fry were deformed (I'm assuming the female was the molly) was the fact that it was a Balloon Molly and Balloon Mollies are already "deformed" (they have a shortened spine that gives them the balloon appearance). Livebearers also store sperm so you can't guarantee there was even a cross unless you had a "virgin" fish. When you go to a fish store, 99.9% of the females are already pregnant and it can take months before they use up all of the stored sperm.

I think it looks like what he says it is maybe he did have a virgin its possible i think it could happen a had a community tank that the male guppies had relations with my female platies but never saved any babies becuese had danios that ate them all but i bet that some of the babies were hybrids so i believe him

I've got a cross between a SB Flowerhorn & Red tiger Mota. Its still too small to take a good pic of what it looks like.
