Ok so I've picked up. A few tanks now a 60 a 90 and a 180 empty the I've decided i m going to try aggresiveish tank. Everything will be bought with as juv and moved as they grow the 90 is cycleing now the 60 has been up for a couple months 180 is in the garage and probably won't be set up until next year as I got a deal on it so my wife let me get it but can't set it up until I get ride of another tank. (I know I'm whipped).

So I'm gonna go tiger oscar for sure this time my mind is set I was thinking maybe firemouth and green terror what are the best oscar tankmates your your opinion.

I made a similer thread like this but it kinda got side tracked and I was all over the place anyways just looking for the fish that do best with oscars not so much tank size/filtration advice just compatability.

Thanks!

Severums are great, and they have a few varieties. Geophagus would work, bichirs, plecos, silver dollars, tinfoil barbs, lots of different cats. As far as aggressive fish go oscars are on the low side of aggression.

If you were going to use the 90 I would say one oscar. If/when you set up the 180 I would say a pair of O's and a few Red Hook Silver Dollars I would keep the stock list low and water qualtity high. I wouldn't consider an Oscar in the 60 unless it's a temporary situation at best, if you wanted to get a pair and in a few months move them to the 180 that would work. Sorry tank mates and tank size can't be exclusive from one another.

Hmm ok I got some a red head sevrum geo and ebjd in the 60 growing out right now so maybe ill just put the oscar in the 90 and move the sevrum or geo in there when they grow up thanks for the ideas guys!

Plymouth fantastic fins is by far the best. Sometimes fish doctors is probably the cleanest but not much for fresh water and cichlid world has some rares for cichlids but is a bit rough.

Ahh, all the same places I go :) I'm in Wayne and work in Plymouth. Pet Connection on Telegraph in Dearborn Heights has some rares and a nice selection also.

I've bought a few fish from Cichlid World and while it may be a little dirty there I've had pretty good luck with the fish I got from there.
