Setting up a 55g sump for my 150g. I would rather just buy an overflow to make it easy. Anyone have any suggestions for a good one to buy?

The CPR brand is nice, but they require an Aqualifter pump to keep it primed. If this pump goes, which is common, the siphon will break and it can flood your tank. I think the u-tube style overflow box is a safer choice.

Any particular brand?

Of the u-tube style, I don't think so. I believe they're fairly generic...

I looked them up on ebay. Would I need to buy the regular oveflow box then add the u tube?

Got any links to what you found? These are the ones I'm talking about:

Gotcha. Was slightly confused but all good now. For plumbing with the sump could I just use those "pool" type hoses?

It's a hit or miss with those hoses, sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't. You may need to add a small piece of PVC to the bulkheads to attach the hose with some clamps.
