Hi guys. I'm really struggling to get all my peacock bass into pellets. I have two 6" ocellaris that are eating hikari cichlid gold no problem but the 4" ocellaris and 5" orino don't want to copy and show no interest. My 7" temensis tries eating cichlid gold and tetra doromin sticks but spits them out. Srangely enough he loves algae wafers and takes them down no problem. Are they still to small to get onto pellets? Should I wait till they are like 8"?

Can you guys tell me what are the best pellets to get them started on in your experience?
Any tips on how to get them eating pellets. Please don't tell me to use dieselmacks method because I don't use feeders and my fussy bass don't attack any food on the surface.
Please help, thanks

i used hikari food sticks from the beginning, never had problems..

I was thinking the food sticks might be best. I'm also thinking of separating the smallest bass because they can't compete for food as well as the others and are growing much slower.

I feel your pain. All my bass are the same size but ive got one Orino that is a pain in the ass. He will literally attack all the other cichla in the tank if they move from the bottom corner. He keeps them bunched up in the back bottom corner, and if they stray out of that, he kicks their ass untill they get back in that corner and cower. It makes feeding unbelievably difficult. He eats till hes full not letting any of the others out of the corner, then he "guards" them to make sure they dont move. At that point they are so whipped that even if food falls right in their face they wont touch it. Cant get them on pellets cuz he wont let them off the bottom. Theyve got about a 6 square inch patch they are allowed to be in. If they get outside of that he chases and attacks untill they get back in it. Very very frustrating to me. Im almost at the point of getting rid of him.

bio gold and omega one for me.
