A 55g with a 1000gph turnover rate and 1 green terror, 10 giant danios, 2 smaller plecos (still finalizing), a small bichir (sill finalizing) and a pike if it will do. The tank is always clean, water quality is pristine and lots of hiding places.

IMHO The tank is too small for a GT and a pike, they are both dominant type fish and you are just asking for aggression problems. Again, that is just my humble opinion, some things work for people that just makes me scratch my head 
If you are going to try, I would suggest a Saxatilis type, Sveni or "Lepidota" are both available quite often.
