best place for 3D backgrounds?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the first link has some of the cheapest prices i've seen, and the second one has a nice mix of cool looking ones that cost a lot and some decent ones that are not too pricy (all things considered)

When deciding what background to use think of the stock you plan on putting in the tank. If you can get a background that looks like some were the fish would come from then thats the one I would get.

PM JK47 or aclockworkorange.

Both are Masters in 3D backgrounds

I currently have a 55 but my buddy has a used 300g I'm upgrading too within 2 years so I figured I'll slowly buy everything I need for it over the course of the 2 years..

What are some good places to get 3D backgrounds from?

And would it be worth the cost of getting one for a tank thank size?

Please HELP!

Honestly you will be way better off going with the option that I did!

It's a company called

Universal Rocks!

825 Shepherd Drive
Garland, TX, 75042

Phone: 972-412-7179

They have Very high detailed 3D Rocks AND Backgrounds that are not destructable like those others companies.

The BG's are Flexible so you Don't have to cut them or your tank to install them. They are made from very durable tough, "Rino Liner" like, material that has the color and bit of Real Crushed Rock embedded into it during the manufacturing process. Each coloration is tad different as they are all made by hand.

The cool thing is that you can take multiple rocks and bland them into one another to make a totally unique 3d Backbround that no one else in the world has unless they copy your idea. You can check mine out in my Signature that i made. It's a 180gallon African Cichlid Tropheus Tank. Made with a whole Universal Rocks Sytem!

If you are interested... Call Talei and Stuart over at Universal Rocks and tell them that I, Andrew C. from Michigan sent you and they should give you a Good Deal either way! They are a great couple and will treat you right! Thir products are amazing! They look VERY Real!
let me know if youhave any other questions!

Which silicone to use!

GE silicone I is aquarium safe
GE silicone II contain Bio-guard (all Silicone II contain Bio-guard no matter if its labeled or not) according to GE the Bio-guard chemicals will continue to leach into water for as long as 5 years. So please to not use any Silicone II type or you will loose your fishes.

Silicone curing time for a thin bead is 72 hours depending on humidity. So for installing back ground where little ventilation is available and usually a generous amount of silicone is used, i would allow at least 4-5 days before adding water. Silicone release ammonia and methanol during curing process so it will kill your fishes if you don't allow enough curing time
