theres a bunch of lakes by me that have them all the time...im north of tampa

Do you want both species? The spotted gar is restricted to the panhandle; the Florida gar replaces it in the rest of the state.

i have a spot about hour and a half south of tampa thats full of gar.. the only problem is using topwaters for gar in the 12" area might land you one of the 30lb tarpon swimming in the same canal.. or a decent LMB but theres definately gar there lol

easiest place to find one and pick out exactly what size shape etc... would be the everglades along tamiami. I can't believe people down here pay $25 + for them.
