Im setting up a new tank... I heard low traffic areas are best... My tank is in my living room right now.. But seem to have ich much more lately and didn’t know if it was because of stress because I religiously do my water changes and gravel vacuums.. I didn’t know if I should move my new tank into my bedroom.. what does everyone think??

Hello; First I am confident that the ich has nothing to do with the tank placement. May I suggest doing a search on ich and it's treatment.

Where to place a tank will depend on a few thing I do not as yet know. Things such as the tank size. The weight of a set up can make a difference.

It is a display tank or perhaps a breeding setup or a grow out? This can make a difference.

Is carpet on the floor and do you have a place without any carpet? I do not place tanks on carpet any more and have not for decades.

I can speculate on one thing. That being that fish do fine in high traffic areas. Caution might be needed if the traffic area is where heavy or hard objects are normally moved that might break a tank.

I didn’t once say it was what I did say is I heard ich COULD be because a fish is stressed. I have a busy household. I know ich is caused by a lot of different issues. However my whole home is hardwood floors. Tank I am setting up now is a 55 gallon. I plan on putting it in my bedroom. Away from direct sunlight and the loud noises of my home. My son has a tank in his room. Not once has he gotten ich his fish are beautiful and peaceful looking.. I literally was looking for suggestions and I know everyone has an opinion. But I’m not uneducated about some things fish wise nor am I a professional at this.. Thank you!

None until I get in the new house (which shouldn't be long now).

As far as puffers go how about a well planted dwarf puffer community

What are you interested in a bunch of fish or a single wet pet type.
Is it a 55long or a 55standard. Two different footprints could change your fish selection. 3x18 vs 4x12
