I want to know if a pleco would be okay with a green terror, some fast schooling fish, and maybe some pictus cats.

the plan for the 75 is to end up with a male green terror cichlid, 3 pictus cats, idk what number of quick schooling fish, and a pleco.

would the pictus fight with the pleco if the pleco is bigger? and would a bigger than ~5 inch pleco be okay for it? I'd love a rare one but the budget just doesn't allow for online orders.

also, what schooling fish would not get eaten by the green terror or the pictus cats? and how many should I get? again, with my current budget I can barely afford the light fixtures.

please do mention the species you recommend, you never know when the lfs will have the fish. also mention multiple different species! it'll help give me more room to choose what I really want.

as always, Thank You in advance!

craigslist hook u up bro. stock u listed looks ok but just wait til u find a nice smaller size pleco / or cat you'll be happy with vs just what's good for now...get your tank nice & in a few weeks you can surely find something you'll be proud to have. schooling fish can go w/some silver dollar red hook. super classy + chill on the bank. post pics.

I’d skip the pleco personally. It will get along fine with the terror if you are set on getting one. Just try to stay with one that doesn’t get too big.
But I would advise to either go cats or pleco, not both. Your bio load will get pretty high as everyone matures.

For schoolers stick with smaller ones. Tetras are good. Rainbows or giant danios work too. You’d want a group of at least 6-8. I can’t say how many cats. I’ve never kept them and don’t know their info without going off to look them up.

With a green terror, you don't need a pleco for uneaten food. They tend to be gluttons and will scour the bottom floor for food. It would be better to increase your pictus cat school to like 8 or something higher. Or skip the cats and have a school of 16+ buenos aires tetras with a male green terror.

Ive had my eye on some of the scobinancistrus varieties for my SA tank recently, but its all personal preference. I think most plecos that dont get over a foot in length would work well for your tank.

But as the others said i dont think you'll have a need for any "cleanup" with a gt and pack of pictus roaming around. If you do get a nice pleco, invest in some specialized foods for it and feed after lights out to make sure hes getting enough.
