England""
can I ask if some l numbers are better than others for cleaning your flat stone/wood and back of tank of algae ?
looking for something nice looking and maybe able to breed when move them to smaller tank"
these will be going in with south American cichlids

I have found bristlenose are the best at eating most algae, as they don't get huge and lazy. If you have wood that you want eaten (or algae on wood), then you would want a panaque or royal pleco. An ancistrus will probably clean your decorations better though.

The best algae cleaner I've found is my L137 I put one in my predator tank that had always had an algae problem and the next day I noticed the pvc pipe in there had no more algae in the tank I was kinda surprised. Also he is out and about more than any other pleco I have

What T thefredpit said. My 2 L137 plecos are pretty good at cleaning my driftwood and glass.
