I am going to get a new tank, hopefully soon. What is the best power filter for a 75-125 gallon tank? Is two Emperor 400's adequate for a 125 gallon, or would it be better to add a canister? If so, what brands are best? (cheapest/quietest) Also, is a 125 gallon set-up for $400 a good deal? (used)

I think the early stages of MTS are setting in, and I only have 2 29's. Plus, I realized there is just enough space in my basement to squeeze in a a 6 and 4 foot tank.

also, whats the best biomedia for a canister? It seems like every brand has their own, but which one do you think is most efficient?

one more thing: how much does a empty 75 and a 125 glass tank way?

thanks

it's best to get atleast 1 canister when you go with 2 digit tanks, along with 1 or 2 power filters.

what about 1 XP3 and a emperor 400? it all depends on how stocked the tank will be though

oo only 110 dollars off ebay.

is the emperor 400 the best power filter of its size?

try bigalsonline.com for good prices. you may also consider the aquaclear 110. I have used all three filters and found them to be excellent.

If you getting a canister and you want cheap, get a Rena. I know a few people that have had problems with them but i have had 3 of them over a span of 3 years and all of them are still working great and sometimes i don't even remember that there on. The media I would use is called Matrix. its made by seachem and i feel its the best for the dollar.

HOB filters would have to be the emperor 400. Im not a big fan of the bio-wheel but the quality exceeds a lot of other brands out there.

all IMO.
