best sand for rays

im thinking about natural colored cichlid sand would that be ok?

I have mine on pool sand. Cheap and haven't had any problems at all.

I used pool sand as well. white quarts. $5 for 50 lbs. no problems.

lowes play sand for my leo's. works great very soft to the touch, and its very natural looking with nice malaysian driftwood and nice plants. it looks awsome

Hi guys,
It's been quite a while since I've posted on here.
I've been wanting to change from the black 3M colorquartz that I currently have. I saw a picture of someone's tank that had swimming pool filter sand and it looked awesome. Does anyone know if all pool filter sand is the same? Does it matter if it's silica based?
