I feed mine a combo of thera a, omega one shrimp pellets, hikari carnivore pellets, and nls algae pellets (yep they like them). Also an occasional earthworm here and there.

A quick search through the polypterus forum and the stickies therein will give you a wealth of information. Bichirs relish pellets, insect larvae, fish pieces, seafood and so on. Hard to go wrong there.
