Out Back In The Woods!
Been building my new Plywood Tank 460Gal & am ready to seal the Glass to my Front Panel I have fiberglass the entire front panel & all the corners 2 layers & sanded with 120grit to rough it up & cleaned with denatured alcohol.. went to HmDpt to pucrhase silicone & so many silicones to choose from so didnt purchase any but had bought some attwood Marine 7200 quick cure polyurethane sealant says permanent bond & regular attwood Marine Silicone will these be safe to seal the glass to my Front panel?? or should i use something else... Ive always used GE Silicone 1 W&D Sealant just wasnt sure if it was gonna hold up with that much water pressure... any suggestion would be appericate would like to purchase sealant locally if possible to get it finished & cycled need to shuffle some fish round ASAP... Like Homedepot, Ace Hardware, .Lowes etc...

I use the 100% pure silicone rubber sealant from Home Depot It is the GE brand... Just make sure that you get the clear stuff that has no mold inhibitor because that is toxic to fish... so they say :)

GE 1 W&D is what I Have always used on my smaller tanks.. Not to sure that GE 1 would hold up with that much pressure... Leaning toward these 2 brands any input on other or these please feel free to post..

3m 5200 or Dow 795

the GE silicone 1 will work just fine for sealing the glass to the tank. in this case the more the better, you can always cut off the excessive dried silicone later that oozed out. if it can hold a 540 gallon tank together it will hold your glass in a 460. the 3M 5200 will work just fine as well, for dow products 835 I think is the one you want, just can't recall off the top of my head right now.
