i have an acrylic black back tank and gonna make it a fh tank.. i want substrate but dont noe if colored sand is good or just gravel help out

imma go with colored sand just dont noe wat yet blue green idk

Light colored sand. When I 1st got my FH I used black sand and he turned black! It looked sort of cool but very odd. I hate gravel. Too much gunk gets caught down in it.

Sand is not a good substrate for flowerhorns. They prefer gravel so they can move it around. You'll end up getting better colors out of your fish if you use multicolored gravel too.

+1
