I'm starting a new tank for my pbass and wanted to know your recommendations on substrate. I have seen black sand, white sand and gravel.

I know white washes out the colors and black makes them dark. Wanted to know what your experiences where and what you'd recommend.

Thanks

I use #20 silica it's got some browns and creams Black shows the colors more but my preference is on the nateral side ..Its' more along the lines of your taste...

So black show's pbass colors more? I had white sand before and it seemed to wash out the colors a bit. Will try black, thanks.

Try crushed granite it is grey and white and black it seems to bring out the color in all my other fish. So far my baby pbass look very vibrant. You can find it at your local landscaping gravel business. Plus it just looks great all by its self.

that's a very interesting idea. I've always preferred black for just about everything, but that might look nice.
